Eligibility criteria

To be successful for the corridors for wildlife program, you must have:

  • a property in Cardinia Shire Council area that is minimum of 1 hectare (2.47 acres or 10,000m2)
  • space to plant and grow at least 300 plants (planting area must be over 8 metres wide)
  • defendable space around your home and neighbouring properties as per CFA guidelines

This program will supply a minimum of 300 plants.

How many plants would you like to apply for? * Required

Total plants supplied will be dependent on the:

  • number of applications received and
  • site assessment undertaken by Council's Land Management Officer.

Once your application has been approved, you will be advised of the number of plants that will be suppplied in autumn of 2027.

All site preparation and planting is done by the landowner. Council's Land Management Officer can provide advice on how to prepare the site, weed control and plant species selection.
